Swollen Lips
Face Reading Shows Lip and Gut Connection
If your lower lip is swollen, lacks tone and/or has a fuzzy border this signals bowel problems. Briefly, our lips are at the apex of our digestive tract and a readout for what lies south of them. So when your assimilation is good, expect your lips to have precise borders, even color and good tone. If, however, the bottom lip and/or its border region are chronically swollen, Face Reading helps you know how to regain tone.
Below are three clients with lax bottom lips; plus an “after” photo of the third person showing how quickly you can regain both your health and lip tone. Just as a exercise strengthens a muscle, dietary discretion tones both our digestion and our lips.
My Pain and Cravings Are Down
Suffering from bouts of extreme gut pain, Karl requested a Face Reading Report. Focusing on his lower lip only, we see:
- Lip lacks a precise border
- The skin below lip is both swollen and pink
- Inner lip is red and pouches out, especially on right side.
Karl made the recommended dietary shifts and emailed me two weeks later: “I’m feeling better, the pain and my cravings are way down.”
Diverticulitis
Diagnosed with diverticulitis, a condition that was fatal for her father, Betsy asked her doctor what to do. His advice: “Eat more fiber, and when it progresses we’ll surgically remove it.” Fortunately, Betsy opted to address the root of this problem with significant dietary shifts. In her bottom lip we see:
- Fuzzy lip border
- White line both on and below the lip
- Swollen “pouch” below the lip
Before and After Success
Melodie, suffering from exhaustion and digestive issues, followed the recommendations in her Face Reading Report and two months later sent this follow-up photo. Her lips and skin are more uniform in color; her lower lip is better toned; and her more vibrant eyes reveal that her energy is rebounding. Good work, Melodie!
How to Regain Lip Tone
The first step in regaining normal lips and a healthy gut is to identify what caused the problem and then make shifts. It is typically food related and as you correct your diet, you regain your health, energy and also normal facial skin tone around your mouth. Had staph infection — had sores in my nose and taking topical mupricon for the nose and the lips — after a week – I started seeing under the bottom lip swell a little — they thought it was a reaction — now it is still there — like the picture of Betsy in your website —
I have no problems with digestion — do not eat dairy or wheat and just chicken and veggies —
I gave up bagels and do not have celiac — My diet is very bland and no sugar – no juices or fruit — just bananas-am I a candidate for you to help. I am 67 and an athlete — doing triathlons.
I am willing to pay the $100.00 for you to see my pic.
Even if the “ledge” on your lower lip is 100% related to the mupricon, I’m confident that by analyzing your face, I can provide you with relevant health information. By the way, many people with dysbiosis and leaky gut (commonly expressed by irregularities on the lower lip) have no overt digestive symptoms.
I do have diverticulitis does this have anything to do with the ledge for my lower lip
As you mend your gut, your lip borders and the skin surrounding them normalizes.
I would like a face analysis and dietary report how much and how to proceed?

Thanks. This is the first time I have heard about looking at the pouches and coloring under the lips. Very interesting. I will be looking more closely at this area on people this coming week.
Great, and track your own lip as well. For example, if constipated the lower lip tends to be larger than after a full BM.
